How iBaby Baby Monitors Can Help You Stay Calm and Entertained During COVID-19

It’s inevitable to say that the Corona Virus aka COVID-19 has altered your daily routine in some way or another. Having the kids, your partner, work, and pets all under one roof can be a little hectic for everyone included. So, having a fun routine is crucial to keep everyone at home sane during this time. But as a parent, you already know how hard it is to create a routine with your little one. It’s even harder now, that you’re confined to the square footage of your own home. There will probably be outbreaks and you may think your sanity is being tested, but thing’s don’t have to be difficult. iBaby has a variety of smart features straight on your smartphone that can help make this transition flow smoothly and peacefully for all those involved. Follow these tips to keep yourself calm and entertained during this time:

The three modes: Wakeup, Study, and Sleep Mode

Having the perfect morning and bedtime routine can sound complex. But, the good news is that your lovebug can easily get acquainted with a new routine when you properly introduce it to them. After all, they’re been doing it the whole time, even before birth. But to help with the transition of routines, we created the three modes. You can set a wakeup, bedtime, or a study mode (nap time), to play the same lullaby or bedtime story so your little one can be familiar with certain sounds and know when it’s time to wake up or snooze away to sleep.

A recent study found that those who wake up with a melodic tune had lower levels of grogginess throughout their day.

So, scheduling your baby to wake up and fall to sleep with some of the over 1,000 songs in the iBaby Care App will definitely help their day and yours.

Audible Books!

When you’re stuck at home, the days can seem long and dreary, especially when you know you can’t go out. But keeping yourself and your family entertained can be the #1 changing point during this lock-down. Playing some of the audible books the iBaby Care app carries is a fulfilling way for your baby to keep entertained throughout the day. Plus, according to Glad Readers, audible books are known to improve listening skills, memory, critical thinking, focus, and attention spans. So, iBaby is not only helping entertain your baby but also offers some critical educational content to help as your nugget grows up.

Two-Way Audio speakers with 1080p Full HD Video

Letting your baby play in the playroom can bring some time of peace for those parents who are struggling to find a little bit of privacy during the lockdown. It’s always nice to get some downtime without the kids, but with an iBaby monitor, you can always ensure that you’ll have a set of eyes on them at all times. With iBaby’s full HD video -found on the iBaby Care M7 and M7 Lite – you can see, listen and talk to your little ones at all times.

Dreamy Moonlight and Star Projections

Being stuck in one location can make anyone feel moody and temperamental. Especially your baby who requires constant attention and different distraction methods. So, the built-in moonlight soother on the iBaby Care M7 was made to stimulate your baby during tedious and boring days. With bright and fun moon and stars projections, you and your entire family will easily transport into a magical new galaxy, from the comfort of your own living room or playroom.

iBaby monitors have tons of features that will beat the COVID-19 lockdown by giving you safe and entertaining things to do. To learn more, browse our list of smart baby monitors that you can use straight from your smartphone.

Further Updates March 12th, 2020

Dear iBaby users,

Following our updates on February 29th, 2020, in which we announced our fixes.

The original reporter, PCMag, took the initiative and asked the original researchers at Bitdefender to verify our fixes. They announced their findings in the new article ‘iBaby Fixes Security Flaws in Popular Baby Monitor‘ published on Mar 4,2020. Bitdefender’s IoT wizard Jay Balan commented and confirmed the fix, “I can say that at this point the attack vectors we identified in our research don’t work anymore,” and they were delighted by the speed with which we delivered the fix.

Bitdefender also updated their original whitepaper post announcing our quick fix on March 12th, 2020.

Since there was a communication breakdown, and we weren’t aware of the attempts from the community to reach us in this instance, we launched a new email for reporting any security issues to avoid any potential delays in the future: [email protected]

Customer data safety has been our #1 priority. We strive to provide our users with the highest security so they can freely and securely care for their loved ones.

We want to thank everyone in the IoT community for their help and efforts to promote secure baby monitoring systems.

A firmware update is expected soon to further enhance data security.

Further Updates February 29th, 2020

Dear iBaby users,

After a day of research and investigating the potential issue as posted on several media sources, we have the following updates:

The Issue:

Online resources reported potential vulnerabilities of iBaby M6S on February 26-27th.

What iBaby has done:

We have immediately deactivated the potentially compromised AWS authentication information. In addition, we’ve taken a few measures to tighten the security such as limited the cloud storage access and enhanced the MQTT server configuration to strictly limit the topics to which each device can subscribe to. We are continuing to enhance all our safety efforts.

Information that could have been potentially impacted:

Some information uploaded to the cloud storage S3 by the device. So far, no hackings have been spotted and no critical information regarding your account was affected (username, password).

What you can do:

Since there was no breach of data, your iBaby account has been secure and protected. However, as a security measure, you should periodically change your password and delete inactive invited users. We also recommend that you do not use a similar password to other websites.

What iBaby will do:
Soon we will also release a firmware update to be pushed out to your device. Once it’s available, you will receive a notification. This will further enhance data security.

Since iBaby Labs was established in 2011, customer security has been our #1 priority. We sincerely thank you to our loyal users for over ten generations of products.

We are so thankful to have had our iBaby monitors featured in many articles and reputable online channels and nominated as top devices in the baby monitor industry. We are also thankful for the researcher’s and reporter’s in-depth reports and help to build a better IoT ecosystem for everyone. We will continue to strive to design and produce the best baby monitors on the market!

iBaby Monitor Traveling Hacks

iBaby Traveling hacks! Must read if you’re traveling with your monitor!

Are you planning one last summer family retreat this labor-day weekend? Well, you’re not alone! American families throughout the country are throwing one last hoorah to summer before it’s gone. And if you’re planning to get some rest and peace of mind on your trip, you probably decided to take your iBaby monitor with you! Yes, we totally get it. iBaby is a lifesaver. But what happens if you take your monitor and it just doesn’t work at your new location? Keep reading to learn the best tips on how to travel with your iBaby monitor.

Step 1: Are you staying at a Hotel? If yes, keep reading. If no, skip to the next step:

iBaby monitors will not work at hotels. There are various reasons, like multiple firewalls, as to why they can’t install, but our main priority is to keep your privacy safe. And having hundreds of people under the same Wi-Fi is bound to lead to some headaches.

Hotel tip: do you have a hotspot? Use an external hotspot as a Wi-Fi router and follow the next step!

*Using your iPhone as a separate hotspot will not work

Step 2: Reset your iBaby Monitor

Since you’ll be moving to a new location, you will need to complete a hard reset of your iBaby monitor, so your monitor can forget your old Wi-Fi connection and pick up the new one.

Reset Instructions:
*Before you complete a hard reset, make sure to save all of the pictures and videos you have saved in the iBaby gallery.

  1. Open the iBaby Care App
  2. Settings > Delete [Camera Name]
  3. Press the reset button (located by the USB port) for 30 seconds until the LED light flashes red (some monitors may jingle when the reset is complete).

Step 3: Install your iBaby Monitor at the new location

Once you reset your iBaby monitor, follow the installation instructions on the iBaby Care App.

*Some of our iBaby monitors are dual-band and some are not. Make sure you’re installing on the correct band for a successful installation.
